North Bend
North Bend, with its magnificent McCullough Bridge, is the northern gateway to the Bay Area. It boasts a history of great innovators and business people. Asa M. Simpson and his son Louis were prime movers in the town’s development. North Bend was the hub of their northwestern timber holdings.
Pony Village Mall, the largest indoor shopping center on the coast and The Mill Casino – Hotel are located in North Bend.
About Charleston
Charleston, at the mouth of Coos Bay, is a commercial and sport fishing center. This unincorporated community is a center for commercial fishing, processing and support services. The Charleston Marina Complex is part of the Oregon International Port of Coos Bay, providing moorage for over 565 commercial and pleasure craft. The Oregon Institute of Marine Biology and the South Slough Estuarine Reserve are both part of the Charleston Community.
