Gearhart is a lovely, quiet town just 3 miles north of Seaside. It has no traffic lights, wide streets for riding bikes, public tennis courts and a gorgeous unspoiled beach.
The center of town is charming with antique and home & garden shops, restaurants, an art gallery, an old fashion grocery store and lodging in a newly restored boutique inn. Gearhart is also home to Gearhart Golf Links, the oldest golf course in the Northwest and the newly renovated, McMenamins Sand Trap Bar and Grill.

McMenamins Gearhart Hotel
With over 60 locations in Oregon and Washington, the McMenamins family of pubs, eateries, hotels, entertainment venues and spas may qualify as a chain. Yet each site serves up a unique experience within the unifying themes of quality service, distinctive artwork and handcrafted ales and spirits, and the Gearhart Hotel is no exception. The hotel's 18-hole Gearhart Golf Links course is the oldest and one of the most popular courses in Oregon. The three pubs onsite serve classic McMenamins fare including burgers, sandwiches and salads, and each one has its own flavor. Guest rooms at the Gearhart Hotel integrate the McMenamins signature artwork and feature king or queen-sized beds, private bathrooms, televisions and USB plug-ins. Bring the kids, two legged or four, and stay in the bunk bed or designated pet-friendly rooms. A new, three-story annex next to the original hotel building provides 16 additional guest rooms with bathrooms. Whether you come to eat, play, or stay, McMenamins Gearhart Hotel is a hole in one.
