unnamed

The Oregon Coast Visitors Association is excited to present the 19th annual Paddling Film Festival at Chetco Brewing Company in Brookings, Oregon on May 4th at 6PM.

The Paddling Film Festival is an international adventure film tour presenting the world’s best paddling films of the year – including whitewater, sea kayaking, canoeing, SUP, action and lifestyle – in more than 120 cities and towns across Canada, United States and around the world.

Visitors come to the Oregon Coast to experience our incredible beaches, forests, and rivers. The Paddling Film Festival presents an opportunity to highlight the Oregon Coast not only for our beaches, but as a paddling adventure destination.

This year’s Paddling Film Festival will kick off with a Community Paddle on the Chetco River at 10AM on Saturday, May 4th in Brookings, Oregon. Gather at the Chetco River boat launch with your favorite paddle craft to meet some new paddle buddies and enjoy an easy morning paddle on a beautiful river.

“It’s a cool way for people who may have just moved here, or don’t know many people, to make some new friends. Then they have paddle buddies. It can also help people become more confident when they paddle in places where they haven’t been before,” said OCVA South Coast Destination Coordinator, Dave Lacey

With 29 inspiring paddling films shortlisted for the World Tour, including the 11 festival category winners, audiences will see hairy whitewater action, sea kayakers exploring remote coastlines, northern river canoe expeditions, international river travel films, motivating environmental documentaries, and grueling kayak fishing battles.

The Paddling Film Festival World Tour is produced by Rapid Media and presented in Brookings, Oregon by Oregon Coast Visitors Association on May 4th, 2024 at 6PM. There will be appetizers, great local Chetco Brewing beer, and wonderful raffle items to be had so bring some cash to get your chance to win some amazing prizes.

For tickets visit eventbrite.com, tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.
