Port Orford Sustainable Seafood
Located on Oregon’s rugged southern coast, Port Orford Sustainable Seafood is a fisherman led Community Supported Fishery dedicated to connecting people directly with the source of their seafood. Built around transparency, sustainability, and support for Oregon’s small boat fishing fleet, the operation allows customers to know exactly who caught their seafood, where it was harvested, and when it came ashore. Every purchase directly supports local fishermen, seafood processors, and community members involved in harvesting, processing, and distributing the catch.
Port Orford Sustainable Seafood highlights a variety of Oregon caught seafood depending on the season, including rockfish, blackcod, salmon, albacore tuna, Dungeness crab, and other locally harvested species landed by the Port Orford fleet. Their commitment to small scale, family fishing practices, hook and line fishing, and direct market access helps create a more resilient and community centered seafood system on the Oregon Coast.
In addition to the seafood market and CSF program, visitors can stop by The Galley, POSS’s on site seafood kitchen. This casual food stop serves freshly prepared seafood dishes featuring the local catch, with outdoor picnic table seating and takeout available. Depending on the season and the day’s landings, guests may find dishes such as black cod miso bowls, rockfish katsu bowls, rockfish tacos, fisherman’s stew, and other rotating specials that showcase the diversity of Oregon seafood in a simple, delicious way.
