Kayaking in the Daylight

Adventure awaits. Head out from Knight Park for an exciting daytime paddle on the Salmon River to enjoy a Cascade Head Biosphere Collaborative naturalist-led tour.

Please note: Registration for this event is required and includes a $25 fee. Visit: www.cascadehead.org

Participants must register individually and sign a waiver. Parents/Guardians can register for a child under 18 years of age but then must also attend the event.

Boating Options

1. Bring your own kayak or canoe, Paddle, PFD, and your whistle.

2. Don't have a boat? Arrange for a rental (either a $60 single or $70 tandem kayak) from local Safari Town Surf Shop. They will provide free delivery to this one-of-a-kind event.

Basic requirements include:

  • Kayak/Canoe
  • Paddle
  • PFD (Personal Floatation Device)
  • Whistle (signaling device)
  • Non-cotton, appropriate apparel (Always dress for the water temperature, which is cold).
  • Other safety equipment: bilge pump or bailer, throw rope, and float bags
  • Waterway Access and Aquatic Invasive Species Permit (10' or longer boats)
