Oregon Redwoods Trail #1107

This hiking trail, which starts on the Oregon Redwoods Barrier Free Trail #1106 along Peavine Ridge in the Winchuck River drainage, loops down to the west into upper Moser Creek drainage to access a grove of majestic old-growth redwood trees. Interpretation, which will discuss forest ecology, redwood life cycle, fire history, wildlife and botany, will be installed at the trailhead and along the connecting Oregon Redwoods Barrier Free Trail #1106.

Directions: Take Winchuck River Rd off Highway 101, make a right on Peavine Ridge Rd and follow to the end of the parking lot. There’s a drawn “map” on a sign in the parking lot, take the shorter trail to the “cool, burnt tree” It’s about a 3/4 mile hike in. Do the small loop in the grove and you’ll find the “cool, burnt tree” up at the top of the loop.
