In celebration of Earth Day, the Oregon Coast Visitors Association (OCVA) is proud to share an update on our partnership with Kind Traveler’s Every Stay Gives Back program—a collaboration that channels tourism into tangible support for local nonprofits focused on environmental stewardship, wildlife protection, and community well-being.

Since launching the initiative, participating hotels have collectively raised $17,228, with 100% of funds donated to Oregon-based charities working towards the resilience of our coastal communities.

Each of these properties has committed to funding a vetted local nonprofit, selected for their alignment with OCVA’s Mitigation, Adaptation and Resiliency Plan, ensuring donations go directly toward decarbonization, biodiversity, and equity-focused projects.

“Our partnership with Kind Traveler gives visitors a meaningful way to participate in the long-term health of our coast,” said Finn Johnson, North Coast Destination Stewardship Manager at OCVA. “Every overnight stay becomes an investment in the future—of our ecosystems, wildlife, and coastal communities.”

As visitor impact and climate change continues to shape the future of tourism, programs like Every Stay Gives Back serve as powerful tools to help visitors Coast Like a Local, making a conscious decision to give back and strengthen a place we all love.
