By off-season on the southern Oregon coast, we mean any season other than summer. Spring and fall can be the best times to visit the south coast. Nice days in the dead of winter are far and few between but can be some of the best. It’s not unheard of to have 60 degrees, no wind and sunny on the beach near Christmas. To experience it calls for a close eye on the forecast.
After a week of sub-freezing temperatures, anything over 40 degrees will feel nice. It won’t quite hit 60 degrees in Bandon this week, but according to Oregonlive’s weather page it will be a comparatively toasty in the low 50’s all week compared to Portland languishing in the 40’s. This might be a good time to head west.
