Lincoln City, OR – The AAA/CAA Motor Club has notified the Bay House in Lincoln City that the restaurant is the latest recipient of the prestigious 4-Diamond Award. Only one other restaurant in Oregon, The Painted Lady in Newberg, shares this honor. According to the Motor Club, there are currently no 5-Diamond operations in the state.

“This is a wonderful acknowledgment of the professional dedication and hard work that our staff has invested in making The Bay House a unique and wonderful place. They are an incredible team and I could not be more proud of them,” said Steve Wilson, proprietor of the restaurant. “I’m excited by what Chef Kevin Ryan and his team are doing in the kitchen, and proud that our level of service is up to par with the food and ambiance. It’s gratifying to know that we’re not the only ones who notice.” According to Wilson, “There’s a lot of great reasons to visit Lincoln City, and we’re pleased to be one of them.”

According to AAA, “A Four-Diamond restaurant is geared to individuals in search of a distinctive fine-dining experience. Often orchestrated by an executive chef and an accomplished staff, menus reflect a high degree of creativity and complexity, using imaginative presentations to enhance high quality, market-fresh ingredients. The equally proficient service staff demonstrates a strong desire to meet or exceed guest expectations. A wine steward is typically available to provide menu-specific knowledge on wine selection. The ambiance is highly refined, comfortable and well-coordinated, incorporating quality materials and a variety of upscale design enhancements to give a first-class impression.”

Located on the banks of Siletz Bay on the southern edge of Lincoln City, the restaurant began life as the Cutler City Tavern in 1937. Over the years, the building was the site of several different restaurants before becoming The Bay House in 1978. Since that time, the focus has been on providing a world-class dining experience in a surprising location. The restaurant has also been recognized nationally for its extensive wine program and a wine list featuring approximately 2100 selections.
