When it comes to adventures with your dog, a trip to the Oregon Coast reigns supreme. Just the thought of your four-legged fur ball bounding up and down the sandy beach is likely enough to have you booking your next trip.

Brush up on leash laws and pet etiquette (like packing out waste) before you go. And be aware of snowy plover nesting season, between March 15 and Sept. 15, when pets are not allowed on some beaches in order to protect this threatened species. Here are some top dog-friendly hotels on the Coast to consider for your next adventure.

North Coast

The Inn at Cannon Beach has easy beach access and a variety of welcome treats for your pets in their designated rooms. In between your activities, you can lounge in the sun in their Adirondack chairs in their lush garden with your pup by your side.

McMenamins Gearhart Hotel is great for golfers and dog owners alike, as they allow your fur-family members to join you for your coastal excursion. Have a beer with toes and paws in the sand at the hotel’s pocket-size Sand Bar

The Inn at Arch Cape is a great place for you and your pup to spend a weekend unwinding. There are wood-burning fireplaces in each of the six guest rooms, and it’s located just a block from the jaw-dropping views of Arch Cape Beach.

The Hallmark Resort Newport welcomes its canine guests with open arms, greeting each pup with a doggie bag full of treats and other goodies for your stay. Every room has an oceanfront view, so you and your doggo can enjoy the ocean breeze at any hour of the day.

Lincoln City’s Anchor Inn Resort has pet-friendly cabins that open out to a charming courtyard — perfect for playing outdoor yard games or roasting marshmallows over a fire pit.

The Adobe Resort in Yachats has pet-friendly rooms, so you can stay at the expansive property perched on the edge of the Pacific Ocean with your dog in tow. Be sure not to miss the hotel’s award-winning restaurant, where esteemed chefs wield their skills to craft an appetizing menu.

Also in Yachats, on the coastal bluffs, The Fireside Motel truly loves pets. Fireside offers plenty of pet-friendly rooms; a welcome kit for pet guests that includes towels, pet waste bags and treats; and easy access to trails and beaches. Forget something? The Village Gift Gallery right inside the lobby stocks a few pet supplies, too.

South Coast

Situated right along the shoreline, Beachfront Inn in Brookings allows dogs to join you for your coastal adventure. With private oceanfront balconies, a heated pool, and access to the beach and fishing, you’ll have plenty to entertain you and your pup.

The Gold Beach Inn and Ireland’s Rustic Lodges is the perfect launching point for outdoor adventures, though it’s also a getaway on its own. Enjoy their ocean-facing hot tubs after walking to Gold Beach’s charming downtown, or unwind after a day spent exploring the Wild and Scenic Rogue River.

Castaway by the Sea in Port Orford has pet-friendly rooms and suites with spectacular ocean views. Experience the magic of the fishing town — and its delicious seafood restaurants — with your dog by your side.
