Ona Restaurant & Lounge
Located in the heart of Yachats overlooking the Yachats River and Pacific Ocean, Ona Restaurant & Lounge celebrates Oregon’s coastal bounty through thoughtfully sourced, globally inspired cuisine. Chef & owner Michelle Korgan builds her menus around local and seasonal ingredients, with a strong commitment to supporting Oregon fishermen, seafood producers, and coastal families. The seafood selection changes throughout the year to reflect what is in season and available from local sources.
Ona has sourced fish directly from the Chelsea Rose and fisherman Cody Chase since 2006. Depending on the season, that relationship brings Chinook salmon, halibut, black cod, albacore tuna, lingcod, rockfish, and whole Dungeness crab into the kitchen. Ona also sources oysters from Netarts Bay, Oregon pink shrimp, and celebrates other regional products such as Yakama Nation sturgeon and Oregon uni when available.
Sustainable Practices
- Names of fishing vessels or fishermen listed on menus or retail items.
- Clearly labeled origin such as “Oregon-caught” or specific port (Newport, Port Orford, etc.).
- Staff able to speak to where and how seafood was harvested. Seasonal menu changes based on what’s being landed locally.
