Welcome the Salmon Home

Join the 2026 Welcome the Salmon Home event and help celebrate the wild salmon’s return to the Salmon River Estuary. This family-friendly event features live music, gyotaku printing, kids’ activities, salmon-inspired snacks, and more. All are welcome.

Naturalist guided Estuary Tours of the lower Salmon River will take place aboard a US Coast Guard certified Pontoon Boat at 12 p.m., 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. Come learn about native peoples, geology, the UNESCO Biosphere Region and, of course, the salmon. Along the way, you’ll have opportunities to observe a variety of wildlife, including bald eagles, osprey, great blue herons, kingfishers, harbor seals, and seasonal migratory birds.

Tickets are $39 for adults and $19 for youth. These 45-minute tours fill up fast, so be sure to register now. Please note that due to the strict timeframe, each cruise departs Knight Park promptly at the scheduled start time.
