Sal de Mar
Sal de Mar is a family operated seafood food cart in Newport, led by longtime chef and local seafood advocate Enrique Sanchez Rodriguez. Dedicated to supporting Oregon’s commercial fishing industry, Sal de Mar serves fish tacos, fish and chips, and coastal inspired seafood plates with a Mexican flair, made with locally sourced seafood and seasonal ingredients whenever possible. Enrique’s children work alongside him, making it a true family business rooted in the Newport community.
As Enrique says, “For us, supporting Oregon seafood is not a marketing slogan. We want to keep the local economy strong by buying local product.”
Visitors can call ahead for pickup, enjoy their meal at the outdoor seating on site, or take it to go while exploring Newport’s waterfront. Whether you’re stopping in for a quick lunch or a relaxed meal after a day on the coast, Sal de Mar offers an easy way to experience fresh, locally caught Oregon seafood.
