Natural Arts and Sciences Speaker Series: 4Cast Project
Come and hear about this community-focused climate research effort within the UNESCO Cascade Head Biosphere Region. This talk will highlight the on-the-ground work being done to observe and interpret climate change across the uplands, river and estuary, the intertidal, and the open ocean. The presentation will explore active projects like meteorological monitoring with regional and micro-scale weather stations, the Pheno-Cam plant phenology network, acoustic bat monitoring, Sitka spruce growth tracking, Green Crab invasion surveys, ocean acidification monitoring, a new mussel monitoring program in tidepools, and more. Explore Lincoln City is proud to partner with the Cascade Head Biosphere Collaborative for an evening where scientists, artists, and community members can learn how these efforts link real-time observations to climate trends and what they mean for coastal ecosystems and communities.
