Daytime Kayaking

Adventure awaits! Set out from Knight Park for an exciting daytime paddle on the Salmon River, a Cascade Head Biosphere Collaborative naturalist-led tour.

Boating Options

1. Bring your own kayak or canoe, paddle, PFD, safety gear, whistle, and Waterway Access Permit (for crafts 10 feet or longer) – $29 per person

2. Don’t have a boat? Arrange for a rental (either a $60 single or $70 tandem kayak) from local Safari Town Surf Shop. They will provide free delivery to this one-of-a-kind event. The $29 per person fee still applies plus the rental cost for the kayak. Kayak reservation and payment is done directly with Safari Town Surf Shop.

Basic requirements include:

  • Kayak/Canoe

  • Paddle

  • PFD (Personal Floatation Device)

  • Whistle (signaling device)

  • Non-cotton, appropriate apparel (Always dress for the water temperature, which is cold).

  • Other safety equipment: bilge pump or bailer, throw rope, and float bags

  • Waterway Access and Aquatic Invasive Species Permit (10′ or longer boats)

Please note: Space is limited to only 20 paddlers, so reserve your spot today. Registration for this event is required and includes a $29 fee. Visit: www.cascadehead.org for complete details.

Participants must register individually and sign a waiver. Parents/Guardians can register for a child under 18 years of age but then must also attend the event.
