Bird Watching Explorience
Bird lovers can flock to this Explorience hosted by the Seven Capes Bird Alliance to learn about coastal birds and their natural habitat. This bird-watching adventure starts with a brief overview by a local expert followed by a guided walk at Siletz Bay and the Taft waterfront. This area is a winter resting ground for thousands of waterfowl including Northern Pintails, Green-winged Teals, American Wigeons, and the possibility of Eurasian Wigeons. Bald Eagles, Great Blue Herons and Great Egrets are oftentimes present as well. The observation will begin at the Taft dock and then, if time permits, head south along the bay, ending at the Salishan Nature Trail.
This Bird Watching Explorience begins Friday, December 5th at 9 a.m., lasts for two hours, is free, and requires no registration. Meet in the Taft waterfront parking lot.
