Beachcombing Explorience
Each Beachcombing Explorience treasure hunt commences at the SW 33rd Street access point with an educational orientation, highlighting Lincoln City's unique coastal geology. A local expert will then guide you along the beach, helping you to both locate and identify coastal treasures including agates, fossils, shells, and minerals. The Explorience will last approximately one to two hours, is free and requires no registration to attend.
To get to the SW 33rd Street beach access from Highway 101, turn west on SW 35th Street, take a right at SW Anchor Avenue, and the access will be on your left-hand side. Parking is available at SW 35th and SW 32nd Streets.
Instructor
Beachcombing Exploriences are sponsored by Rock Your World: Pacific NW Gem & Jewelry and local expert Laura Joki, a GORP (Guide & Outfitters Recognized Professional) certified instructor. When Laura is not out treasure hunting, she can be found at her shop, Rock Your World, in the Nelscott District of Lincoln City, a haven for rockhounds and gemstone enthusiasts. Laura and her husband, Mike, craft handmade jewelry and gifts featuring locally found fossils, gems, and rocks.
