The Captain’s House
The Captain’s House vacation rental – with four bedrooms, three baths, and a game room (sleeps up to 10) – is a cozy and historic, two-story home located on the bluff on Bandon’s scenic Beach Loop Drive. The house is a blend of original vintage charm and modern amenities. Combining comfortable furnishings with commanding views of the coastal rock formations from the picture window in the living room and the Coquille light house from the porch. The perfect location for a relaxing stay whether your interest is in the ever changing ocean view, whale watching, bird watching, storm watching, stargazing, or any of the other wonders found on the southern Oregon coast.
The original House was built in the 1940s by the City of Bandon’s newly hired Harbor Pilot. The residence features the original living room with picture windows looking over the bluff, an intimate second floor master bedroom, and unique second floor wood paneled bedroom. The house has been remodeled, enlarged, and updated. In addition to the original house, the property now features a large kitchen, expansive dining room, a small library, a first floor bedroom, a game room/bedroom, and a studio bedroom with additional living space.
The two standard bedrooms and the studio room are furnished with queen beds. The vintage wood paneled bedroom is furnished with a double bed and vintage furniture. The Library is stocked with a variety of books and cozy furniture, a variety of games, and a small music collection. The upstairs studio bedroom features extra living area with its own view of the rugged Oregon coast, and a queen bed. The game room features a large table and a full size futon. There are outdoor seating areas for enjoying our coastal climate, and a fenced back yard. The fully equipped kitchen features a downdraft stove, convection, and microwave ovens. There are flat screen TVs upstairs and downstairs.
For vacationers who just want to kick back, the living room is the perfect place to watch the waves and the white water as it crashes over Table Rock.
Golfers will appreciate the courses at Bandon Dunes and Bandon Crossings. They are a few minutes drive. The house has a clean, protected place to store golf gear.
The Captain’s House is a few minutes walk to a beautiful sandy beach with unique rock outcroppings and some wonderful tide pools with lots of marine life to explore.
Bandon also has excellent fishing — for Chinook or Coho Salmon, Steelhead, Sturgeon, Halibut, or Rockfish — or you can catch your own Dungeness crab (you’ll need to buy a license, available locally).
At The Captain’s House they use green cleaning products everywhere they can.
