50th Anniversary Celebration – UNESCO Biosphere Region at Cascade Head
Help honor the 50th Anniversary of the Cascade Head Biosphere Region! Join community partners, scientists, artists, educators, and coastal stewards for a day of exploration, discovery, and celebration.
From estuary boat tours and guided hikes to hands-on art, science exhibits, Indigenous knowledge sharing, and family activities, this event highlights the connections between people, nature, research, and stewardship along the Oregon Coast.
This exciting three-hour event will include an incredible variety of activities including:

Public presentation detailing the history of the area’s significant designation

Estuary pontoon boat ferry with access to the sand spit

Self-guided beach walk

Educational station with an opportunity to learn about water, Salmon and aquatic life

Artistic expression through participation in Gyotaku fish printing

Birding in the Biosphere region

Guided hike of Cascade Head
