Vet Ink: Tattoos Inspired by Military Service at the Coos History Museum
The Coos History Museum presents Vet Ink: Tattoos Inspired by Military Service from October 17 through Summer 2019.
Historically, tattoos have many meanings and misconceptions. Traditionally, military inspired tattoos depict the story of wars and battles, and symbolize lost soldiers or achievements in service. This new exhibition, created in honor of the more than 8,000 Coos County Veterans, takes a closer look at the stories behind the "ink" through a series of audio, visual and interpretive panels.
Active duty military families, as well as veterans and their spouses/partners receive free admission to The Coos History Museum through a grant from the Coquille Indian Tribe and other donors.
