Comfort at the Coast!

Posted by Cindy "Songbird" Tilkens / February 17, 2010

I am a songwriter and singer, and moved to Florence, Oregon with my husband in 1996 after doing concerts for 6 years all over the United States. We loved it there and made many friends. I was widowed in 2005 when he lost the battle to cancer. I left Oregon and moved to TN. Now I am back and writing again after a traumatic car accident in 2008, I moved to Lincoln City, but have been up and down the coast taking photos and just created a Video called “Song in the Night” that is found on It is going to bring comfort to people… and I would call the sub-title comfort at the coast because the photos are ones I took at Pacific City, The beach by Heceta Lighthouse. Lincoln City beach downtown, and Face Rock in Bandon. Comfort at the Coast is what I am experiencing. The many visits I make to Boiler Bay, Rocky Creek next to Whale Cove and the waves coming in. The walks along the beach by Mo’s in Lincoln City and the many sunsets all along the Oregon Coast are displayed on my site and some in the Music Video. I am healing here and creating healing music videos now. I next plan to do a video called “Wildflowers”. I believe there is a theme here- Comfort at the Coast! And I plan to create that in my music.

Lovely song. The lyrics totally resonate with me as I’m also a singer/songwriter who loves God and the Oregon Coast. There is definitely a certain comfort about the area. I live in Corvallis and go over to the Coast as often as possible in search of that comfort :)
