The most wonderful of times!

Posted by Michael & Susan Cory / November 11, 2009

Mom & Dad lived in Gold Beach, first in town on Cold Iron Hill and then on Wedderburn Loop Road overlooking the ever changing Ocean and the Rogue River, the most beautiful view you could imagine.  During our visits we explored the Coast from top to bottom, Hwy 1 to Hwy 5.  I believe we stayed in every campground in Oregon.  The campgrounds are the nicest and cleanest we’ve found in all our travels.

Crater Lake, well that’s a story in it’s self.  The first attempt, we found the rim totally covered by a fluffy white cloud, but no lake! The second attempt it started snowing as we started up the mountain. You would never believe what we found when we arrived at the top.  A big fluffy white cloud covering the whole rim again.  The third time was a charm, we got to see the whole Lake and I would have to say it was worth the two extra trips just to see the lake and the surrounding vista.

Mom & Dad were living in Heaven as they put it and we would have to agree!  We’ve only touched a small portion of Oregon so it looks like we’ll continue to explore the Heaven Mom & Dad loved so much.

Thank you Charlie & Kathleen Windridge for moving to Oregon and allowing us to share your wonderful Oregon!
