The unique partnership made up of the Reedsport/Winchester Bay Chamber of Commerce, The Bureau of Land Management Coos Bay District, The US Forest Service, The City of Reedsport, The Confederated Tribes of the Coos, Lower Umpqua and Siuslaw Indians, and the Reedsport School District put on this five day festival that highlights the common goals of the watershed restoration, education, and economic development. The Tsalila Festival stimulates an appreciation for salmon, the watersheds in which we live, and our cultural hertiage. The first three days of Tsalila are educational days where 2,500 school kids, ranging from 2nd through 5thgrade, experience a variety of educational stations and displays. A traditional alder smoked salmon dinner, complete with squash, corn and fry bread, is offered during the weekend.
