Kinobe and the African Sensation
503-325-001016th and Franklin StsAstoria, Oregon 97103Saturday, Oct 1st, 2011Traditional sounds of Uganda return to the PAC in a performance by Kinobe and the African Sensation. Presented as a benefit for KMUN’s world music programming, this repeat performance comes by popular request from Coast Community Radio listeners.
Kinobe (pronounced CHIN-o-bay) has been performing internationally since the age of ten. A virtuoso multi-instrumentalist and singer, his mission is to lead audiences into the experience of Ugandan roots music.
Traditional African instruments including the koras, kalimbas, endongos and drums among others come together with the African Sensation “to prove once again that music is the most beautiful, universal language,” says Roger Rocka, Kinobe fan and Board Member of Tillicum Foundation, the non-profit corporation operating the stations of Coast Community Radio.
Tickets at $17 for adults and $8 for children 15 and under are available in Seaside at Beach Books, and at the Port of Ilwaco at Time Enough Books, and during business hours at the KMUN 91.9FM radio station.
