    A great favorite for kids of all ages, the Uppertown Firefighters Museum houses an extensive collection of fire fighting equipment dating from 1873 to 1963. Featured are hand-pulled, horse-drawn, and motorized fire engines, as well as fire fighting memorabilia and photos. The Astoria Children's Museum provides hands-on fun for the whole family on the second floor.

    People come from all over the United States to learn about the gray whales that migrate past our coast each year. The Whale Watching Spoken Here program places volunteers at great whale watching sites during Watch Weeks so they can teach others while watching the whales too.
