Posted by OCVA / May 6, 2017

The 6th annual Good Earth Community Garden Plant Sale will be held again this year at the Farmers and Artisans Market in Old Towne Bandon.

On May 5th and 6th from 10am to 4pm, you will be able to buy locally grown vegetables starts, herbs and more.  All our offerings are organically grown and almost all of our veggies are heirloom, specifically chosen for our cool climate: brassicas, lettuces and salad greens, cucumbers, peppers, spinach, Swiss chard, squash; try a new variety and if you love it save seed for next year!  Learn how at the Good Earth sponsored class July 15 at 10:00 at the garden.  See full class listings on our Facebook page.

At this year’s plant sale there will be a great selection of heirloom tomato plants again chosen for our cool climate: slicers, paste and cherry- red, orange, yellow, black, striped; try a new color this year!

There will also be a large selection of herbs, with several varieties of basil.  And if you have a brown thumb look for our succulents which are hard to kill and look great! Again, there will be fantastic silent auction items, a raffle basket and beneficial bug houses – hang one of these and watch the good bugs come!

During this two day event there will be experts like Jennifer Ewing and several Master Gardeners available to answer all your gardening questions.  Support of this fundraiser helps Good Earth provide 41 raised beds, tools, water, fertilizer and education to people of the community to grow healthy, organic foods for their families.  Call 541-808-1813 to find out more about how you can get involved.
