The start of a new year can be a powerful time to get in touch with our deeper aspirations – who we would like to be and what we would like to bring forward into our lives. Sometimes this means releasing old patterns as a way to make space for new possibilities to emerge. In this day-long retreat we’ll explore a variety of simple mindfulness practices that can help shine a compassionate light onto our habituated patterns and establish conditions for living life with greater intention.
Mindfulness is the practice of bringing awareness to the present moment with a non-judgmental curiosity and kindness. Practicing mindfulness has been linked to:
• Decreased levels of stress, anxiety and depression
• Greater capacity to make healthy lifestyle choices
• Enhanced cognitive ability
• Improved relationships
This retreat will be held partially in silence and include guided sitting meditations, walking meditations, mindfulness talks, and personal reflection. All levels (beginners through experienced practitioners) are welcome. Please wear attire comfortable for sitting and gentle movement. If you prefer to sit on the floor, please bring a meditation cushion or pillow and whatever other props will help you to be comfortable. Please also bring a writing implement.
$75 if registered by December 18th; $90 thru January 6th; and $110 if registering on-site the day of the event (check or cash only on site). Cost includes vegetarian lunch.
