Six Classic North Coast Bookshops

Posted by The Oregon Coast / September 28, 2015

Whether you seek breezy page-turners or engrossing books meant for stormy weekends, we’ve selected a handful of our favorite booksellers (listed according to location, north to south) on the North Coast that will please even the most discerning bookworms.

Godfather’s Books (Astoria)
A comprehensive selection of new and used books, a funky atmosphere, and an in-house café make this a one-stop shop for an afternoon of browsing.

Lucy’s Books (Astoria)
Located in the historic Liberty Theater Building, Lucy’s has been serving Astoria’s readers since 1998.  Offerings include new, used, e-books, magazines and gifts for every taste.

Beach Books (Seaside)
This sweet little bookstore has its own mascot — Oz, the resident kitty — as well as a good selection of books by local authors, history, fiction and more.

Jupiter’s Rare & Used Books (Cannon Beach)
Owner Watt Childress is often holding court here, eager to chat and offer advice on your selections. Get lost in the stacks and you’ll have a hard time leaving empty-handed.

Cannon Beach Book Company (Cannon Beach)
Stop in for current beach reads and best sellers, along with beloved classics. A robust kids and young adult section will spark the imaginations of the younger set.

Cloud & Leaf (Manzanita)
Thoughtful staff write-ups and recommendations give this cozy storefront an inviting air. Look for current titles in a variety of genres, local authors and topics, as well as used tomes.
