World Music: Okaija Afroso: Ghanaian Music & Dance

Posted by OCVA / April 4, 2015

Okaidja’s unique artistic vision has led him to combine his native rhythms with unforeseen pairings of musical flavors. His sound is a spicy fusion of spirited Ghanaian music with diverse cross-cultural influences. He is a dynamic vocalist, a gifted multi-instrumentalist, and an exultant dancer. For this coastal performance, he will be accompanied by 2-3 other musicians, playing a variety of stringed and percussion instruments. With help from the Studio to Schools committee, funded by a grant from the Oregon Community Foundation, Okaidja will also perform an outreach concert at Oceanlake Elementary School.  Tickets $13 in advance/$15 at the door
