Boat Building Center Tours

Posted by OCVA / October 11, 2014

The Coos Bay Boat Building Center will be showing small boat building as they complete a replica of the Coos Bay Sailing Skiff built by Slim Brown of Charleston in the 1930’s. This is a plank on frame boat. Lumber used in the construction is from trees grown on private wood lots in Coos Bay! Very traditional concepts in this modern day world. Smell the wood enjoy the sights at the Boat Center at 100 Newmark in Empire…just North of the boat ramp in the Hollering Place…open 10:00am – 2:00pm every Saturday.
