Hood to Coast 2014: Race brings thousand of runners to Oregon roads

The 2014 Hood to Coast relay race begins Friday morning at Mount Hood’s Timberline Lodge and ends Saturday at Seaside on the Oregon coast.

More than 17,000 runners and walkers as well as about 3,000 of their support vehicles will be spread out on several Oregon highways. Officials with the Oregon Department of Transportation is asking motorists to please be cautious when approaching or passing runners, walkers and their support vehicles.
