St. Patrick’s Day Celebration in Lincoln City

Posted by OCVA / March 15, 2014

Here’s your Lincoln City opportunity to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with the dynamic and colorful Molly Malone Irish Dancers of the Yeates Academy and the Pipedance musical duo bringing you songs and dances of Ireland.

Four-time world qualifier champion dancer Meaghan Feeback, championship dancers Caitlin Kruell and Amelia Douglas are featured performers with the Irish dance troupe. Enjoy the fabulously intricate rhythmic footwork of these skilled dancers in colorful costumes. The company performed last year to a sold out auditorium at the Lincoln City Cultural Center. Complementing the Molly Malone Irish dancers will be the Celtic music duo Pipedance of Gary Burman and Nora Parker. The couple sings a wide range of traditional Irish/Celtic songs. Gary performs on varied bagpipes including the Irish Uilleann Pipes, whistles, harmonica, mandolin, and guitar, Nora Parker is a talented dancer of sean nós, an old style Irish dancing with its low to the ground, more impromptu form of footwork and movement, often on a smaller area. She also plays varied Irish whistles and the bodhrán, the Irish frame drum.

The colorful and festive performance opens José Solano’s Spring 2014 World Music Series with an early celebration of St. Patrick’s Day at the Lincoln City Cultural Center. There will be a no host bar and hors d’oeuvres available.
