Annual Great Columbia Crossing 10k run/walk

Posted by OCVA / September 30, 2012

Have you ever wondered what it?s like to walk on water?  Grab your running (or walking) shoes and feel like an Olympic athlete as you experience the majesty of the Columbia River where the waters meet the Pacific Ocean during the Annual Great Columbia Crossing 10k run/walk.  The journey allows participants the once a year opportunity to run or walk across the 4.1 mile stretch of the Astoria-Megler Bridge that connects Oregon and Washington at the mouth of the Columbia River. Although you aren?t competing for the Olympics, all of the registered runners are timed during the event.  And, if you aren?t interested in numbers, the registered walkers do not receive an official time when they cross the finish line.  Experienced athletes and amateurs enjoy this unique opportunity.
