HOW SWEET IT IS!

Posted by OCVA / January 26, 2011

Love is a many-splendored thing, and this month there’s no sweeter spot for sweethearts than here amongst the splendid views and charmed climes of The People’s Coast! You’ll find romantic getaway packages. Soul-stirring festivals. Hand-crafted glass floats. And, naturally, mile upon mile of many-splendored views. What’s not to love about that?

Let’s get things going with a few proposals about where to stay. Spectacular ocean-view rooms and cozy fireplaces are always a good start to a romantic getaway, but add handmade chocolates, complimentary champagne and commemorative flutes, votive candles, candlelight dinners and in-room massages to the mix and you’ll really set the flames of romance aglow! They’re all part of several Romantic Getaway Packages or Add-Ons available at the Inn at Cape Kiwanda in Pacific City, Shilo Inn & Suites in Newport, the Inn at Wecoma in Lincoln City, or the Inn at Cannon Beach and The Ocean Lodge in Cannon Beach.

Want to settle in and cozy up as a winter storm rages outside your window? Then check into the sweet deals available with the Winter Storm Watching Specials at Sea Horse Oceanfront Lodging in Lincoln City, Driftwood Shores Resort in Florence and Land’s End Motel in Cannon Beach. Or enjoy the calm before the storm by celebrating your wedding nuptials with a Romance Special at Nordic Oceanfront Inn in Lincoln City.

Of course, sooner or later you will have to leave your room. And you can rejuvenate your spirits at the Confluence 2011 Wine, Beer, Seafood & Music Festival in Gardiner/Reedsport, the Rogue Ales Celebration of Love & Chocolate in Astoria, the Winter Art & Chocolate Festival or “Cocktails for Couples Sunday” events in Brookings, the Emerald City Jazz Kings concert in Florence or the Earthbound Beauty Day Spa couples special in Newport.

Experience the fine arts at Gallery Briseno in Toledo and, good grief, don’t miss a live performance of “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” or the Second Saturday Art Walk in Brookings. Or create your own masterpiece at the Watercolor & Collage Workshop in Cannon Beach. And if you’re feeling a little creaky these days, you’ll feel right at home during this month’s Antique Week or Third Annual Classic Car Show in Lincoln City.

Still haven’t found what you’re looking for? Then keep your eyes open for one of the hundreds of hand-crafted glass floats placed along the beach in Lincoln City and Gold Beach. It’s finders keepers and a memory to treasure! How sweet is that, sweethearts?
