It’s Dungeness crab season on the Oregon Coast, the perfect time to escape those winter doldrums, buoy your spirits and experience a feast of the senses.
End of the holidays have you feeling a little under the weather? Well, ‘tis the season to be crabby on the Oregon Coast! And there’s no better way to escape the winter doldrums than to feast on fresh-caught Dungeness crab amidst the bracing climes that await you here.
Whether you prefer your weather calm or tempestuous, your crab boiled over an open fire or co-mingled with linguine, the rhythm of the waves or the syncopations of jazz, The People’s Coast is serving up a feast for all your senses this month.
You’ll discover a number of “storm watch” specials to afford you a cozy spot from which to experience the might and majesty of the great Pacific. Taste the delights of the deep at a Jambalaya cook-off in Lincoln City or a wine, beer, seafood and music festival in Gardiner.
Delight in the rock and roil of the raging surf in Yachats. Abandon all your worries and woes in Bandon by the Sea. Uncover a chance to win $10,000 in gold coins in – where else – Gold Beach. Hear three days of tall tales and traditional songs of the sea by FisherPoets on the Edge in Newport. And talk about cutting edge – there’s even a barbershop cabaret show in Seaside.
So what good is sitting alone in your room when life is a cabaret waiting to be experienced? It’s all waiting for you right here, old chum, all this month on The People’s Coast! Come to the cabaret.
WHAT’S YOUR STORY?
Share your tales of adventure on the People’s Coast and you could win one of TWO packages in the North Bend-Coos Bay area!
A friend of ours once cast her brand-new crab trap into the becalmed waters of Winchester Bay, where it promptly disengaged from her line and sank, becoming a mere curiosity to the ragged claws that scuttle the depths there. Got a similar story? Why not share it online and reel in an opportunity to win a free adventure in the Coos Bay – North Bend area of the People’s Coast.
What’s up for grabs? The Main Street Package includes two nights at Annie’s Cottage and two nights at Motel 6, complete with Oregon-crafted beer, crab ring rental package from Fisherman’s Wharf and burgers & bowling at North Bend Lanes! Or how about the Wall Street Package which includes two nights at Loft by the Lighthouse and two nights at Eva’s Ocean Retreat, with a bottle of Oregon wine and a seafood buffet dinner for two at the Plankhouse Restaurant at The Mill?
Whether its Wall Street or Main Street, don’t let this one get away! Submit your story and tell all your friends and family to post their comments. This month you’ve got two chances to hook a free getaway on The People’s Coast, and just think of the yarns you’ll be able to spin then.
