The New Kathy

Posted by Kathy Rankin / March 26, 2009

Well, my story goes like this. About seven years before I went on this great walk on the beach and watched the sunset, I weighed
a lot! Probably over 300 pounds, its embarrassing to say exactly how much I weighed since I didn’t like to get on scales.

Well, on this particular trip with a friend I hiked with, we took a whole bunch of great pictures of the beach, the ocean, and me!
I had so much fun taking pictures that this is a day I will remember always and forever! I lost about 110 pounds and the pictures prove how happy I am with the weight gone.

I know that there are many people who feel that not taking pictures of themselves because they are embarrassed, but what else do you have to show family years later? It’s important to preserve your memories of yourself, and your family no matter what. And taking the “new pictues” of Kathy is something I am glad to have done! I will never forget that walk on the beach, the new me!

this is one of my favorite pictures of myself, although I have a few I liked, over the years there were so many pictures taken of me when I was heavy, but it is still important to your family no matter what size you are, to love yourself! Please even if you are heavy set, don’t refuse to let people who care about you take yhour picture, someday that might be all they have of you.
