Girl’s Weekend

Posted by Kay Fischler of Philomath / March 1, 2009

In January of 2008, a group of four older women decided a weekend at the coast was what was needed to ease the pain that two of the women were going thru. One just learned she had breast cancer and the other had just lost her grandson to cancer. And months before losing her grandson, his mother was going thru breast cancer treatment. So we all needed an ocean fix. So we rented a place, played cards to all hours of the night, had a few drinks and lots of laughter. All of us came home feeling a little more peaceful. Whenever, I’m down and feeling blue, I go to the coast.

Thank You,
Kay
