The Cozy Cabin
The worst year of my life started with a flood devastating our home of six years. We lost nearly all of our possessions on the first floor of our home, and had to rebuild it from the sub floor up! Not only that, but my sister was diagnosed with cancer, and lost her battle two months later. Ten days after her funeral, my mother had a massive heart attack. To say the least, this was the worst year of my life. My husband and I desperately needed to get away from it all and relax. He started searching for a cabin on the coast. He came across an ad for Beachcomber’s Haven in Gleneden Beach. It sounded great! A cabin overlooking the beach with a hot tub on the deck! He called the number, and talked to Kris Knudsen, the manager. She was wonderful from the start. She told him of the cozy cabin, called the ‘Seacret’, and it sounded like just what we needed, as indeed it was. She asked for a deposit, with the balance to be paid upon arrival.
We went there and had a wonderful stay. It was just what we needed. Any time we needed anything Kris was right there. I couldn’t believe the personal service! The coffeepot went out, and she had a new one there within the hour. We were quite impressed. So much so, we have made it our beach getaway nearly every year, for the last eleven years.
Kris has always been friendly and helpful. During one stay, the hot tub stopped heating; we called her at 9:00 at night, and she came right over! Kris was unable to fix it during our stay, so she gave us one night free. She has always been so awesome, I have told all my friends and family about this place. Imagine this – she told me I could reserve a place up to several months in advance and pay monthly for it! I have never had someone be so gracious. I guess that’s why we keep going back from year to year. Several of our friends now make it their yearly beach trip too. In my opinion Kris is the BEST!
