The Friendliest B&B on the Coast

Posted by Jeff and Debbie of Lake Tahoe, Incline Village, NV / August 20, 2008

My husband, Jeff, and I are planning to retire in the not too distant future and the Oregon coast is just the place! But where? Recently, we started a trip in Astoria and worked our way slowly down the coast. We were fortunate enough to make a reservation in Florence at the Edwin K B&B, owned and operated by Marv & Laurie VandeStreek. It happened to be our 25th wedding anniversary and we couldn’t have picked a place more inviting or romantic. Everything, including the weather, was just perfect. The breakfasts we enjoyed were amazing. Once we explained to Marv & Laurie we were interested in becoming B&B owners ourselves, they couldn’t have been more helpful, showing us their entire operation and answering our multitude of questions. The knowledge they shared not only about the area surrounding Florence, but other parts of the Oregon coast was invaluable. It was hard to leave the Edwin K, but we continued our trip south, visiting other wonderful places along the coast. However, the level of hospitality and friendliness shown by Marv and Laurie far exceeded any we have had in previous journeys, and we highly recommend this bed and breakfast!
